ENVIRONMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY
PROJECT
Studio is Everywhere (Environmental Portrait)
Choose one person and photograph him/her to tell your audience your subject’s story. What is an environmental portrait? It is a portrait that is taken in an outdoor space which brings out the subjects personality in the most optimal manner. It is this space in which the subject spends most of their time and should be more than enough to tell the subject's story.
I chose to express the relation between my model and her polarised relationship with tennis. On one hand, her heart is attached to the sport which gave her confidence, focus, willpower and strength and on the other hand, it seems to be an albatross around her neck which is refraining her from moving on in life and achieving her other goals, dreams, and ambitions.
PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY
Basic Portrait Lighting
Using a single studio flashlight, capturing basic Highkey portraits using basic portrait photography techniques: Rembrandt, Butterfly, Broad, Loop, and Split.
CARTE-DE-VISITE
CARTE-DE-VISITE was originally a calling card which was popularly traded between members of the family and friends. It was extremely popular during the American Civil War as soldiers had an inexpensive medium to exchange photographs with their loved ones. They were made by mounting a thin paper photograph onto a thicker card paper.

Portrait pictures of the model were clicked using different portrait lighting techniques. The photos were further developed in Photoshop. They have been given a sepia tone in order to kindle a vintage vibe. In addition to that, a worn out effect has also been given, indicating wear and tear over the years in order to highlight the time elapsed.
GREENR CAFE,
NEW DELHI
Greenr Cafe in New Delhi, India was kind enough to hire me to capture the behind the scene working atmosphere of their cafe. The brief was to capture the hands-on process, the attention, and the care that went into crafting each and every morsel of their food into absolute perfection.
TIONG BAHRU
Set in modern Singapore Tiong Bahru
retains its vintage timelessness. This project was meant to capture the sense of a place in a space.
